Flying Star Feng Shui

2 Aug 2009

One of the reasons I absolutely LOVE Classical feng shui is that it is so rich and deep.  There are many types of Classical feng shui and the ones I rely on the most are Compass feng shui, Men Gua feng shui and Flying Star feng shui.

Flying Star feng shui can be felt immediately because it's energy is dynamic.  That means that it moves and changes from year to year and month to month so in addition to having your Men Gua feng shui in place you'll definitely want to stay on top of the Flying Stars in your home and office as they change each year and each month.

There are 9 Flying Stars and they are:

  1. The Star of New Beginnings
  2. Illness Star
  3. Conflict Star
  4. Relationship Star
  5. Disaster/Transformation Star
  6. Windfall Star
  7. Robbery Star
  8. Abundance Star
  9. Fame Star

Each of these Flying Stars have their own personality and create their own opportunities and challenges for you.  Fortunately in feng shui there are not only activations for the positive Stars but also remedies for the stubborn ones.

If you recall from my article on Compass feng shui the ba gua has 8 directions plus the center which gives us 9 total guas to work with.  The way Flying Stars affect the ba gua are two-fold.  First there are yearly Flying Stars and that means that each Star sits in a specific gua/direction for the entire year.  For example, in 2009 the Relationship Star sits in the south which is the Fame/Recognition area of the ba gua.

Second there are monthly Flying Stars that each sit in a specific direction for 30-31 days and then move to a new spot.  For example in July 2009 the Fame Star sat in the center gua of the ba gua while the Robbery Star sat in the east.

The Flying Stars that will impact you the most are the ones on your front door and you bedroom.  They will also affect your 4 personal best directions (Success, Health, Relationships and Wisdom) which are based upon your birthday (also known as Men Gua feng shui).

When you know which Flying Stars will be in those directions for the year and for the month it's like having special insight into the possibilities that lie ahead for you so that you can plan accordingly.  That's because Flying Stars increase the odds of certain events happening in your life.
